Transformative Reflections
Reflecting on our tutoring practices can be highly instructive, showing us what works well, what not so well. Reflection can help all of us–tutors and faculty–as we strive to renew/regenerate our energy, vision, and commitment to serving our students and being lifelong learners ourselves. This conference will encourage and examine such reflections. Possible questions to be examined include:
- How can reflection be a catalyst for change in the Writing Center?
- How does reflection serve to validate our practices in the Writing Center?
- How do we incorporate reflection in our every practice in the Writing Center?
- Is reflection something we need to encourage students who visit the Writing Center to do? If so, how do we go about it?
Writing Center tutors are invited to submit proposals for fifty-minute sessions, led by an individual or group. Sessions include 10-15 minutes of presentation, followed by a facilitated discussion or guided activity, or both. Writing Center directors will meet separately. (Download the flyer!)
Proposal deadline has been extended to November 22nd, 2013!.
